In 2010, then twelve year old Clara Polito started Clara Cakes out of her love for baking and passion for making delicious desserts that just so happen to be vegan. What started as a makeshift dessert stand at many DIY music and art shows around Los Angeles, grew into a go-to for birthday parties, music fests, you're the best lawyer packages, etc.
Clara's first cookbook, Clara Cakes: Delicious and Simple Vegan Desserts for Everyone!, came out in March 2017 via powerHouse Books. It contains Clara's tried and true crowd pleasers and personal faves such as the Inception Cookie and Sexy Cake.
In addition to baking, Clara is an avid cook. She's hosted dinner parties in Las Vegas, Detroit, New York, Ohio, and counting. Polito has written recipes for publications such as Teen Vogue, Wall Street Journal, Marie Claire, Domino Mag, Tastemade, and ROOKIE.
